Information
Modern cross-country trails demand increasingly capable mountain bikes, and the Epic 8 was designed for this. Its improved linkage makes it the most efficient bike we have ever tested, while the custom (and optimized) suspension absorbs every bump. It??s a wolf in wolf??s clothing.
If you are a cross-country racer or enjoy riding fast, the Epic 8 is the bike for you.
UNMATCHED CAPABILITY: The most capable bike on the planet with 120 mm of travel. You will be amazed at how the Epic 8??s progressive geometry offers skills on technical terrain, as well as climbing and quick acceleration performance. The frame??s lateral and torsional stiffness also results in ultra-precise handling.
WHAT ABOUT IMPACTS? Compared to the previous generation, the new Epic 8 absorbs 12% more force from impacts and vibrations, preserving your energy level and allowing you to be decisive when it really counts.
RIDE DYNAMICS TUNED: The Specialized Ride Dynamics team developed custom settings for the new Epic 8 shock absorber. Our unique damping features prescribed by Ride Dynamics overall enhance the riding experience. By adjusting the shock according to compression curves and the new linkage, we can offer a bike faster than the sum of its parts.
BIOMECHANICAL EFFICIENCY: By optimizing the suspension linkage, the Specialized Ride Dynamics team reduced inefficient movements caused by pedaling (also called Pedal Bob) by 20%, while maintaining active suspension for flawless management of forces from impacts to ensure you stay in the most efficient pedaling position.
MORE WITH LESS: With the Epic 8, we did not add a single extra gram to achieve these unmatched frame capabilities. All models now come equipped with the SWAT 4.0 compartment to carry all your essentials, as well as an integrated headset stop to prevent damage to the top tube when you fall and the handlebar turns. In fact, the new S-Works Epic 8 frame even lost weight (76 grams to be exact) while gaining these new features.
